My Supervisor is a Bully

Hi I hope you can help me with the problem I have regarding my supervisor at work. He is not a very nice person and treats everyone including myself like dirt. May people have complained to the management above him but all this results in is him being moved to another section. Nothing is being done to sort out the situation.

He has also taken advantage of my learning disabilities and called me a liar when I tell people thing about what he has said etc. My job is to stack shelves but because I have learning disabilities I cant read the labels properly and so do my work from memory. I may work slower than everyone else because it does get hard to remember where over 300 things are meant to go. I do ask for help when I need it and this has never been a problem.

I need to sort this out because he is making my working life a misery. He shows me no respect, twists my words when I complain about him and I never have anyone to witness what he is doing. I have had the idea of doing a petition, but I am worried that it will have no effect and just get me in trouble!

Please help!!

The most professional way to handle this situation would be to keep writing down everything that happens in a dairy. Then when you have compiled a few weeks or so of events that have upset you, make a confidential appointment and take this to the senior management, and say that you wish to make a formal complaint.

if when you have this meeting he tries to twist your words again don't let him. if you write down every detail about the occasions than take this dairy with you to the meeting, it will help you stand firm about what was said. If he still manages to confuse you than just say, that he is twisting your words to confuse the situation, and that's how up to now he has gotten away with it. Stand firm and if he tries to confuse you stick to what happened.

It is a very difficult situation to be in but you do need to try and rise above it all. I bet you are sick of hearing people say this to you!! People who bully feed off reactions, and if your reactions stop he may also stop.
Hope this helps!
