Sexy Lingerie

Sexy lingerie is a matter of personal opinion.  What will be sexy to one person will be hideous or tacky to the next. 

Lace and lingerie have long been synonymous and this seems to be the archetypal sexy fabric from which to fashion lingerie. However, with the development of fabrics, designs and fashion influences, what is considered to be sexy lingerie will vary wildly from person to person.

Traditionally men have been known to like red and black lace with the stereotypical stockings and suspenders, but this image is now a bit of a cliché and people are learning more about the various looks and designs in the market place. The advent of women's and men's consumer magazines means lingerie is seen more and more and the numerous designs and colours are more widely known.

Society is better educated about styles and seasonal designs. So now a smooth cup moulded bra in a pastel colour might be the sexiest choice for someone whereas a black microfibre crop top would be appealing to another. Anecdotal evidence from retailers however shows that men still tend to pick the stereotypical item when choosing gifts for birthdays, Christmas or Valentines Day.  Men tend to go for the black and red lace bras or basques and this is revealed to be a poor decision when the women bring them back to store again, to exchanging for a more practical white or cream co-ordinated set.

Women tend to choose underwear that makes them feel good or sexy.  This may not tally with a mans view of what constitutes this however. 

Sexy lingerie, whatever the style, is only sexy if it perceived to be sexy.  Revealing designs may not suit a certain personality (or shape).  In this case, the most skimpy outfit would not serve the purpose of being sexy.  The smaller a garment is does not necessarily correlate with its sex appeal. 

When the wearer is happy and feels sexy - that is the measure of sexy underwear.  The choice of styles and colours available today means that every taste can be catered for.  Pretty designs are  numerous with seasonal offerings to entice any customer from thongs, briefs, hipsters, shorts, basques, bodies control briefs, backless strapless bras and so on.  Whether its minimal and revealing or it covers the whole body as a functional garment, sexy lingerie is a matter of taste.
